La Dolce Vita (Life is Sweet) Literally!

Today has proven to be a very fattening day. I have eaten 4 gelatos and I am sure I will sample one more gelato place before the end of the night. I love gelato. I am hoping all of our walking will burn off some of the calories. The Uffizzi Gallery was on the agenda this morning which houses more Renaissance art than you can imagine. It's quite overwhelming especially when you aren't an art history major to see works of art from ancient Greek sculptures to works of Leonardo da Vinci and Botticelli. We went to a very quaint wine bar located on the other side of the Ponte Vecchio off a secluded piazza called Le Volpi e l'Uva ("The Foxes and the Grapes"). We sampled a few glasses of Italian wine and had some wonderful Caprese. We also went to see the most famous naked man David. I read somewhere that his hands were unusually large and they really are. Unfortunately you can't take photos of in either museum.

I do feel quite at home however walking the streets with the smell of the sewage running underneath the quaint cobblestone streets. Its like being at work. I am enjoying seeing the nicely dressed business men in their suits riding down the cobblestone streets with their business suits on. It reminds me of the movie " Life is Beautiful."

We had dinner at Il Latini which is an Italian family style restaurant that my step-niece recommended. What a great place! We sat next to a couple from Denver, Colorado who was celebrating their 10 year anniversary and a couple from Romania.

The iPad isn't to adaptable to photos so still trying to work that out since pictures are a lot more interesting than me writing about my travels!
